With over 16 years and counting experience as an athlete over events ranging from 800-marathon in competitions ranging from club level up to national championships, Lloyd has returned to the UK after a spell living and training full time in Sydney, Australia.


Within his time down under Lloyd was fortunate enough to reside with and to be part of a group that featured some of the top athletes that Oceania has to offer including multiple Olympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games representatives.

Being in and around this environment and witnessing the success that comes with following a training plan unearthed a new passion for Lloyd, not only to progress himself as an athlete but also seeing others reach their goals.

Fast forward to 2019, Lloyd now resides in Teddington, London and is surrounded by Olympians, Professional Athletes, British Athletics physiotherapists and Sports Scientists along with some of the most respected and established coaches in the world.

With a passion for health & fitness from a very young age, with this new found worldwide experience and knowledge, it's now time to share this passion with the public and inspire the next generation of runners.​

In 2018, Lloyd was named as an ambassador for New Balance UK.

In 2019, Lloyd teamed up with Science In Sport, Suunto and Mr Monkey Sox.

Team Project Run was established in 2017 by Head Coach Lloyd Kempson. The vision is not only to help you reach your personal goals with bespoke training but also to help you understand the mental, physical and social benefits that running can bring you. 


We see too many people that would love the idea of starting a new exercise regime but fall into the category of not actually knowing what to do or where to start. From that point you could hire a personal trainer for £££ per hour and follow the cardio sessions that are instructed or buy the latest edition of a fitness magazine and follow the basics and hope for the best that you can run your parkrun a little quicker than last month, or shave a few pounds off over a sustained amount of time.


What we are here to do is specifically break down each and every element of your training so it is completely specific to you and your progression to achieve the best results, physically, mentally and socially.


A factor close to our hearts is the relationship that is essential to succeed between the coach and the individual. Regardless of your ability or exercise history, a coach is more than someone giving you the workouts to do. Lloyd will express the utter gratitude he has for the influences he has met from around the world, that have taught him not only how to run and how to run faster, how to lift correctly, how to eat to enhance performance and maximize recovery but also how to be a better person and how to enjoy a healthy balance.

I’ve now been with Team Project Run for just over two months and loved every minute of it, Lloyd’s knowledge and advice are second to none and is always great at communicating! Since joining I’ve taken 90 seconds off my 5km time, I’ve never felt stronger whilst running! In October I’ll be running my second marathon and I can’t wait to see all the progress I’ve made!
